The project envisions the creation of ceramic sculptures to be positioned within the forested expanse. These sculptures will emerge as the outcome of imaginative exploration and a study of nature. They will be placed individually or in clusters, seamlessly harmonizing with the natural surrounding landscape.
In the process of crafting the ceramic pieces, I will utilize stones, clay, soil, wood, and ash. In this manner, the forest will serve as a resource for ceramics. The precise coordinates of these sculptures’ placements will be made accessible through social media platforms, enabling anyone within the vicinity to locate these installations. Consequently, the forest will transform into an exhibition space, where human activity converges with the essence of nature.
The project began in 2024 when I received funding from the Kone foundation. The first step in implementing the project was to set up a workshop and technological base for creating ceramic sculptures.
Location of Project Implementation
The idea for this project was inspired by the stones I encountered in the forest. Over the course of several years in Ukraine, I created a series of works based on the form of the stone, refraining from portraying them as human figures, and contemplating how humans become part of the landscape. In this project, I want to further develop this concept and continue the series in a new context, finding a place for these sculptures within the environment. The sizes of the objects should range from a few centimeters to 1.5 meters. It could be a small stone by the roadside or a large object deep within the forest among the trees. I start with the form of the stone and utilize the technological advancements I possess, but I won’t limit myself to this form. I explore how the environment can help me discover new shapes and surfaces. It’s a dynamic process that evolves over several years.
Series of my works created from 2018 to 2022.
